30 Film Females: The Cabin In The Woods (2012)

Filed under: 30 Film Females — ootastic @ 2:05 pm

Apologies for the flyby posting as I’ve been distracted by holiday season and graphic medicine.

I’m not a very good at watching horror films (the barmy The Wicker Man aside) but heard interesting things about the The Cabin In The Woods.  Without trying to spoiler you, the unfamiliar Kristen Connolly proves an unlikely heroine while Sigourney Weaver has fun as an authoritarian figure.  Below is a silly maths joke that I unoriginally came up with during A-levels, but as usual I forgot to add the C.  Speaking of calculus, I’ve just finished reading the excellent graphic biography of Richard Feynman by Jim Ottaviani and Leland Myrick.

Honourable mentions for 2012: Emily Blunt as a repentant mother holding her own against Bruce Willis/Joe Gordon-Levitt/Bruce Willis again in the Looper.  Plus Noomi Rapace as a conflicted scientist in Prometheus which I was squicked by when newly pregnant, as featured in Kermode Uncut.
