30 Film Females: Saving Mr Banks (2013)

Filed under: 30 Film Females — ootastic @ 8:23 pm

If memory serves correctly, Mary Poppins was one of the first films I saw at the cinema as a small child (E.T was deemed too scary, although Dick van Dyke‘s cockney accent remains quite frightening) and can still make me feel warm and fuzzy.  So I was interested to see the ever wonderful Emma Thompson play the author P.L. Travers in the biopic Saving Mr Banks.  By rights, I should have drawn Minnie rather than Mickey doing the chim chim che-ree, but I’m just glad I managed a vaguely recognisable mouse/chimney sweep brush.  After this and Saving Private Ryan, I wonder who Tom Hanks may come to the rescue of next…

Honourable mentions for 2013 (spoiler-free): will space survivalist Sandra Bullock live to tell the tale in Gravity?  Also, Scarlett Johansson explores Scotland in Under The Skin.
